Law enforcement personnel have arrested a 22-year old man wanted in the tragic shooting deaths of six people at the Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois Monday afternoon just outside Chicago.
Robert Crimo III is accused of opening fire on unsuspecting people taking in the holiday parade, taking the lives of a half-dozen people while wounding another 24.
Police say Crimo fled the scene in a 2010 silver Honda Fit and was ultimately taken into custody in nearby Lake Forest.
Police say they engaged Crimo in a brief pursuit before he ultimately stopped.
Crimo is accused of opening fire on the unsuspecting crowd with what police are only calling a 'high powered rifle.'
Charges against Crimo have yet to be drawn up as the case remains under investigation.
