(Houston) - There is some clarity to the drama that has shrouded Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson. The embattled signal-caller has settled all but 4 of the 24 civil suits brought against him by massage therapists alleging sexual misconduct/impropriety. The suits claimed Watson engaged in questionable conduct after he hired them to conduct massage therapy. Watson has continually denied any wrongdoing and/or misconduct during the sessions. In a statement released by attorney Tony Buzbee, Buzbee said:
"Today I announce that all cases against Deshaun Watson, with the exception of four, have settled." "We are working through the paperwork related to those settlements. Once we have done so, those particular cases will be dismissed. The terms and amounts of those settlements are confidential. We won't comment further on the settlements or those cases."
Watson still faces the prospects of a lengthy suspension by the National Football League. The Browns conducted a blockbuster trade with the Houston Texans in March in landing the star QB. Watson quickly signed a $230 million contract with Cleveland, a contract which is fully guaranteed.
