Cleveland Browns Release Center J.C. Tretter

The Cleveland Browns have released the anchor of their offensive line. The team today terminated the contract of starting Center J.C. Tretter who joined the Browns as an unrestricted free agent in 2017.

Tretter played 78 consecutive games without missing an offensive snap until Christmas day last season when he had to sit out the game against Green Bay after being placed on the COVID-19 list.

Tretter helped lead the Browns to the top rushing mark, per carry, in 2021 at 5.09 yards which was the highest by a Browns team since 1966. Tretter was originally a fourth round pick by Green Bay in 2013. During his career, he's appeared in 111 games with 90 starts.
