The Jarvis Landry era in Cleveland is over. The Cleveland Browns, today, released the five time Pro Bowl wide-receiver, this after the team traded over the weekend for Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper.
The Browns had granted Landry permission to seek a trade but there were no takers for Landry and his $16 million plus cap hit. The Browns traded for Cooper Saturday giving up a fifth round pick in 2022 and a swap of sixth round selections.
The Browns ultimately save $15 million in cap space with Landry's release. The team does have the 27-year old Cooper under contract for three full seasons at $20 million per year which makes him teh fifth highest paid receiver in the NFL.
