WATCH! Ukrainian Tennis Player Pounds Russian Opponent; Chest With Pride

While Russia was continuing its' attack on Ukraine, Ukranian tennis player Elina Svitolina was wearing the yellow and blue colors of her nation's flag and thumping Russian tennis player Anastasia Potapova in straight sets 6-2 and 6-1 at the Monterrey Open Tuesday in Mexico.

Svitolina, who is the top seed in the WTA event, previously stated she would not play against any Russian or Belarusian player during the tournament until the sport's governing bodies banned competitors from those nations unless those players were barred from using national flags, anthems or symbols. The WTA announced that would be the case and the 27-year old Svitolina played in the match that she said was 'very special to her.'

After match point, Svitolina pounded her chest in a show of national pride against her Russian opponent, Potapova. Svitolina also further showed her national pride as she is donating her prize money from the tournament to the Ukrainian Army. She says she does not blame Russian athletes for the actions of their government. She says they are not responsible for the invasion of Ukraine. Russia's invasion of Ukraine entered its' seventh day today. WATCH VIDEO!
