Utah Father In Custody After Allegedly Directing Boy To Shoot At Police

Police have arrested a Utah father for allegedly telling his four-year-old child to shoot at officers who responded to a call from McDonalds employees in Midvale.

The man was upset that his order was wrong and showed a weapon in the drive through, and workers told him to pull forward. When officers arrived, the man had to be pulled from the car. Then an officer saw the gun be pointed out a rear window in the car and was able to direct the shot into an awning.

A three-year-old was also in the backseat. The father is now facing charges of felony child abuse and threatening with the use of a dangerous weapon. The police haven’t said what proof they have that the man directed the child to shoot.
