CLEVELAND, OH--- The Cleveland Browns bounced back after a tough loss to the Jets Sunday with a big-time win against division rival Pittsburgh Thursday night, winning the game 29-17. Ronnie Harrison suffered a hamstring injury during warm-ups and did not play. Also coming into this game, Pittsburgh since having TJ Watt have not won a game where he wasn't on the field.
Late into the first quarter was when the Browns struck, Jacoby Brissett would throw a TD pass to Amari Cooper, who today had 7 receptions for 101 yds. along side that TD. This was the first time since 2016 Cooper had back-to-back 100 yard games. Brissett would go 21/31 throwing for 220 yards and 2 TDs. Nick Chubb also had a phenomenal game rushing for 113 yards on 23 carries. In the second quarter, Najee Harris put the Steelers on the board with a 5 yd TD rush after rookie WR George Pickens pulled in an AMAZING one handed catch to put Pittsburgh in great field position. With 8:58 left in the half, Brissett would throw his 2nd TD pass to David Njoku to extend the lead. Njoku was the second leading receiver for the Browns with 89 yards. The Steelers then took the lead via a Mitch Trubisky rushing TD, the Steelers lead 14-13 after a missed PAT from Cade York. Anthony Walker JR. was carted off the field with an apparent knee injury.
Cade York redeemed himself with a 34 yard FG with 2:31 left in the 3rd quarter. The Browns controlled possession and in the 4th quarter Nick Chubb rushed into the end zone from the trenches to help extend the Browns lead. Then with no time on the clock, the Steelers were hoping for a miracle, lateral after lateral led to a fumble, and a scoop and score for Denzel Ward.
