Bay Village Police Blotter: Two Drivers Charged With Passing School Buses

On 01/30/2023, at 1500 hrs, a Bay Village School District Bus Driver reported that someone had passed his stopped school bus with his red lights flashing and stop sign deployed. The incident occurred in the 30000 block of Wolf Rd. After reviewing the video, and a brief investigation, the driver was identified. The female driver was a 38-yoa Avon Lake resident. She was cited for Passing a Stopped School Bus and will face charges at RRMC. 

On 01/30/2023, at 1549 hrs, a Bay Village School District Bus Driver reported that someone had passed his stopped school bus with his red lights flashing and stop sign deployed. The incident happened in the 28000 block of Wolf Rd. After reviewing the video, and a brief investigation, the driver was identified. The female driver was a 28-yoa Bay Village resident. She was cited for Passing a Stopped School Bus, and will face charges at RRMC.

On 02/02/2023, a resident on Clinton reported someone had stolen the battery operated candles off of her front porch. Her call was logged. 

On 02/03/2023, at 0048 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Wolf Rd. near Porter Creek for a traffic violation. After speaking with the male driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the driver was arrested for OVI. The 47-yoa Avon Lake resident will face charges at RRMC. 

On 02/03/2023, at 1317 hrs, a resident in the 31000 block of Lake Rd. called BVPD to report a possible burglary. He observed a male stand on a saw horse and climb through a garage window where a house had recently been torn down. The male left in a vehicle prior to police arrival, but an officer located the vehicle and stopped it. After speaking with the driver, several contractors, and the homeowner, it was determined the male had permission to enter the garage. BVPD reminds residents to call immediately if you see suspicious activity.

On 02/03/2023, at 1831 hrs, a Columbia Rd. resident reported he had been the victim of a theft. A former employee had stolen almost $1,500 worth of tools from him. Police are investigating. 

On 02/04/2023, at 0031 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. near Oakmoor for a traffic violation. After speaking with the female driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the driver was arrested for OVI. The 29-yoa Strongsville resident will face charges at RRMC. 

On 02/04/2023, at 2158 hrs, a resident called to report a vehicle parked in a business parking lot on Dover Center with it’s trunk open. Officers responded and located a crew of after hour contractors working in the building.

On 02/06/2023, at 1036 hrs, an anonymous caller reported loud music coming from a construction site in the 23000 block of Lake Rd. Once on scene, officers heard the noise of construction tools, but no music. The workers denied playing any music, stating it was only their tools making noise. They were advised of the complaint.
