BAY VILLAGE - On Thursday, the 4th Annual 6th Grade "Punkin Chunkin" Event was held at Cahoon Park in Bay Village.
Bay Village Middle School has put this event together to encourage kids to become more enthusiastic about STEM-related careers. In total, 140 students took part in the event. The students built their contraptions at home and brought them to the event.
All the students had one goal, to launch a pumpkin the furthest. While all students made pumpkins fly, one team, The Smashing Pumpkins, set a new record of 111 yards, beating the previous record by over 40 yards.
