A passenger who had 'no idea how' managed to successfully land an airplane after the pilot suffered a medical emergency.

Officials at Palm Beach International Airport in Florida got a distress call from the passenger on Tuesday: "My pilot has gone incoherent. I have no idea how to fly the airplane."

Air traffic controller Robert Morgan managed to talk the man through the process as he safely landed the single-engine Cessna on the airport runway.

Morgan rated the landing a '10 out of 10', adding "I felt like I was going to cry".

No word on the pilot's condition, but one person was taken to a hospital after the landing. The pilot and passenger were the only people aboard the plane
