COVID Continues to Hit Cleveland Browns As Saturday Tilt With Vegas Looms

The Cleveland Browns have announced that head coach Kevin Stefanski has tested positive for COVID-19 while starting QB Baker Mayfield has been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

Stefanski has been fully vaccinated and boostered and is now in self-isolation. A statement from the team says Stefanski feels fine and will continue his duties virtually.

The team also has placed CB Troy Hill, S John Johnson and DT Malik McDowell on the Resevre/COVID-19 list Wednesday.

The latest news regarding Stenfanski and Mayfield comes a day after the team put 8 players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list including WR Jarvis Landry, OG Wyatt Teller, TE Austin Hooper, DE Takk McKinley, OT Jedrick Wills and OG Drew Forbes. Acting running backs coach Ryan Cordell has also tested positive.

All of the above players and Coach Stefanski could still be available for Saturday's home game against the Las Vegas Raiders if they register 2 negative tests in the 24 hours leading up to the game. If Stefanski is unable to coach, Special Teams Coordinator Mike Priefer would serve as acting head coach Saturday.
