Browns S Grant Delpit Speaks with Media Ahead of Ravens

On being voted by his teammates to be the Browns 2021 Ed Block Courage Award recipient:

“It feels good. It feels good to be recognized by my teammates, the coaching staff and the training staff. They helped me get through that time, and we are where we are today. I am very glad for that.”

On the Browns defense limiting Ravens TE Mark Andrews in the first matchup and if the Browns expect Andrews will be a focus again this week or if the Ravens will change their offensive gameplan:

“We know that is his (Ravens QB Lamar Jackson) go-to guy. We did not do that great of a job of shutting him down. He still had a touchdown. We have to limit that and just make them use somebody else.”

On how his body feels at this point of the season:

“I am good. I think I am the healthiest I have been in two years so I am good. I do not have any problems so that is a blessing to say.”

On evaluating his performance so far this season:

“So far, I think am just getting my feet wet, and I have not really shown anything too crazy or anything special. I am just dissecting it all right now, and hopefully in the next coming weeks, I can put it together and make a couple of splash plays.”

On if he has improved since early in the season:

“Yeah, for sure. More snaps.”

On recording his first NFL interception against the Ravens:

“It was good. It was just a regular hook drop. Reading the eyes of the quarterback, he threw it right to me. I just caught it with my chest. I just tried to get up the field a little bit as much as I could. It was good having that first pick that counted. It was a good feeling.”
