Indians Edge Past Royals on a Gloomy Night in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, OH -- The Indians had a few clutch hits behind a brilliant performance by Cal Quantrill and the tribe bullpen. Quantrill handed the ball to the pen with one out remaining nin the 7th inning after giving up a lone run on 7 hits, leading the Indians to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Royals.

Yu Chang provided the tribe with a comfortable lead in the opening inning on a 3-run triple that was launched over the head of Kansas City left fielder Andrew Benitendi. Cleveland youngster Ernie Clement shined on both sides of the diamond, hitting his third career homer while also flashing the leather at 2nd base.

The Indians and Royals will look to play the final game of the series on Wednesday evening depending on weather. First pitch is set for 6:10 pm ET at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio.
