COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Ohio Governor Mike DeWine is asking the state Department of Education to investigate the legitimacy of Bishop Sycamore, whose practices came under scrutiny in a blowout football loss on ESPN on Sunday.

The team lost to Florida's IMG Academy 58-0 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, with the broadcasters questioning the legitimacy of the players even before the game was over. Many others called the safety of players into question.

DeWine Tuesday said the state should investigate whether Bishop Sycamore is providing the necessary educational opportunities for its players.

An investigation by ABC-6 revealed many of the addresses associated with Bishop Sycamore do not have any legit connection to the school. The team used a facility in Easton to practice.
