Flags Lowered in Honor of Kabul Victims Including Northern Ohio Man

(Cleveland, OH) - Flags across the state have been ordered by Governor DeWine to be flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds to honor the lives of the U.S. service members and other victims killed in the terrorist attack in Kabul, Afghanistan.

According to The Sandusky Register, Max Soviak, a medic in the Navy from Northern Ohio was among those killed Thursday.

Soviak was on the honor roll and played football for Edison High School.

The order for flags to be flown at half-staff goes until sunset on August 30th, 2021.
