Kings Island to go cashless by mid-July

( Mason, OH ) - No need to bring cash if you plan to spend a day at Kings Island. In fact, cash will no longer be accepted inside the theme park at all.

Kings Island has announced that they will only accept credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, starting later this month.

Park officials say by going cashless, all transactions will be faster, safer and more secure.

If you don't have any of those payment options available to you, Kings Island has you covered.

"We will have Cash-to-Card kiosks that can transfer cash to a card – no fees," park officials said.

The Cash-to-Card kiosks will be located at the main entrance and at convenient locations throughout the park.Up to $500 can be loaded on a card and the funds can then be used inside and outside the park. Any leftovers can then be used anywhere Visa is accepted.

No word on whether Cedar Point, which is owned by the same parent company as Kings Island, has any plans to go cashless as well.
