City and Browns Propose Lakefront Plan, Including Land Bridge Over Shoreway

(Cleveland) - For years, there's been talk about finding a way to connect Cleveland's outdoor malls to the lakefront, and now, there is such a plan. According to cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer, the city and the Cleveland Browns are proposing more green space around FirstEnergy Stadium, along with a land bridge from Mall A, over the Shoreway and adjoining railroad tracks, toward the stadium.

Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam approached the city with the idea. Conceptual drawings have been made, but further planning is to come. The city has applied to the Ohio Department of Transportation for a grant of $5.6 million for design work on the project.
