Tribe Pitching Shines in 5-0 Win Over White Sox

CHICAGO, IL -- Cleveland starter Zach Plesac showed up to Guaranteed Rate Field looking for revenge, after having the shortest outing of his career the last time he faced the White Sox. Plesac gave up 0 earned runs on 3 hits, throwing 6 2/3 innings before handing it off to the red hot bullpen. Cleveland pitching combined for a 4-hit shutout in the Indians 5-0 win over the Chicago White Sox.

Cesar Hernandez got the Indians on the board on a solo shot to center field in the 3rd inning. Cleveland's Amed Rosario legged out a triple on a gapper, and was later brought home on a fielding error by Chicago third baseman Yoan Moncada, as the ball tipped off the glove on a shallow pop fly. Jose Ramirez extended the tribe lead to 4 on a 2-run blast on Jose Ramirez, who turned on an inside fastball.

The Cleveland bullpen continued their dominance on Sunday afternoon. Bryan Shaw, James Karinchak, and Emmanuel Clase combined for 3 1/3 innings giving up 0 runs and 1 hit. The Cleveland bullpen trio has now combined for 35 1/3 innings, giving up 1 earned run on 13 hits, striking out 50 batters while only walking 11.

The Cleveland Indians will get ready for a series against the Division leading Kansas City Royals. Tribe righty Aaron Civale will square off against Kansas City Starter Jakob Junis on Monday evening.
