Zack Reed Joins Cleveland Mayoral Race

(Cleveland) - Former Cleveland Councilman Zack Reed announced Monday on Twitter that he's making his second run for mayor.

In his video, Reed says "we need strong leadership and a real vision."

Reed was on City Council for 16 years. Most recently, he had worked for the Ohio Secretary of State, until resigning that position earlier this month. He ran against Mayor Frank Jackson in 2017,but lost by 18 percentage points.

Reed joins nonprofit executive Justin Bibb in the race, along with Ross DiBello and Arthur Kostendt. Former mayor Dennis Kucinich has filed paperwork to raise money, but has not declared his candidacy. Mayor Frank Jackson has not yet said if he will run for a fifth term.
