Ignoring the outcry over the retraction of coronavirus restrictions in Texas and Mississippi, the governor of Alabama has announced plans to end the state’s mask mandate.
“While I’m convinced a mask mandate has been the right thing to do, I also respect those who object and believe this was a step too far in government overreach,” says Governor Kay Ivey.
Alabama residents will no longer be required to wear masks starting April 9th, Ivey says. She says she selected the date to give residents more time to get vaccinated before the masks come off.
Is Ivey attempting to trick anti-maskers into thinking they've won, when in reality they have to wear masks for another month? Will it work?
