The Athletic Reports - Indians Officials Were Aware Of Callaway's Behavior

Cleveland, OH - The Athletic released an article today detailing the pattern of sexually inappropriate behavior by former Cleveland Indians pitching coach Mickey Callaway. He is accused of inappropriate behavior towards five women that spanned at least five years, multiple cities and three teams. The article also detailed the Cleveland Indians' handling of the allegations. Shortly after the article was published, Nick Francona, son of Indians Manager Terry Francona, took to Twitter claiming that his father lied to him about Callaway.

Terry Francona responded to his sons tweet when asked about it Tuesday - "I love all my kids unconditionally... That's a very difficult thing to see. To deal with it publicly is hurtful." Nick Francona responded to what his father said in a tweet where he stated "Well, he should’ve dealt with it privately then. That’s on him. I tried."

The Athletic accused the Indians of having knowledge of the actions taken by the former pitching coach. The article claims reports were filed with the Indians PR and communications staff, and even brought to the attention of Manager Terry Francona, General Manager Mike Chernoff, and President of Baseball Operations Chris Antonetti. The Article goes on to quote a former employee who came forward and claimed "This Issue was addressed with him (Callaway) by the three highest-ranking baseball officials (in the Cleveland Organization)".
