Billy Hamilton Invited to Spring Training

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Indians today announced the signing of free agent OF BILLY HAMILTON (#13) to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Major League Spring Training camp. 

Hamilton, 30, owns an eight-year Major League average of .241 (684-for-2839) with 101 doubles, 36 triples, 22 home runs, 178 RBI and 305 stolen bases in 840 games with Cincinnati, Kansas City, Atlanta, Chicago-NL and New York-NL. He is a five-time finalist for the Rawlings Gold Glove Award, is second among active players in stolen bases and in 2017 became the fourth-fastest player since 1900 to reach 200 career steals. He signed with the San Francisco Giants prior to the 2020 season, was later traded to the New York Mets and finished the campaign on the Chicago Cubs Postseason roster.
