Brady Singer Gives Up One Hit, Royals Roll Past Tribe 11-1

CLEVELAND, OH -- Kansas City rookie right hander Brady Singer fell four outs shy of making history. With two outs in the 8th inning, Austin Hedges broke up a Brady Singer No-Hitter with a ground ball single into right field. Maikel Franco led the Kansas City offense with 5 RBI en route to an impressive 11-1 victory over the hometown tribe.

Brady Singer finished his best career start with 8.2 innings pitches, with 0 earned runs on one hit, striking out 8 batters and walking 2. Matt Harvey gave up the lone earned run on an RBI single off the bat of Mike Freeman in the 9th inning. Aaron Civale was hit with the loss, moving to a record of 3-5 on the year.

Kansas City blew the game wide open via the long ball, as it all started with a solo shot from Edward Olivares. Maikel Franco followed up the solo homer with a 3-run moonshot of his own. Adalberto Mondesi jumped on a hanging pitch in the 8th inning, crushing a 3-run home run to make it an 11-run game.

The Royals and Indians end the season series at 5 wins a piece. Cleveland will head to Minnesota to take on the divisional rival Twins on Friday night. First pitch set for 8:10 pm ET at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
