CHICAGO, IL -- Blown opportunities were the story of the night for the Cleveland Indians. Despite Chicago walking eight batters and hitting one, the Chisox blanked the visiting tribe. White Sox starter Dylan Cease was able to work out of jams throughout his entire start, leading his team to a 2-0 victory over the Indians.

The Cleveland Indians ended each of the first two innings of the night with double plays, and also left the bases loaded in both the 5th and 6th innings, including a double play to end the 6th. Jose Ramirez fell a few feet short of a huge 3-run homer, as the ball hooked slightly to the right of the right field foul pole.

Chicago got on the board early on in the first inning, scoring Luis Robert on a double play ball off the bat of Jose Abreu. Tribe right hander Nick Wittgren gave up his first earned run of the season on a solo home run from Chicago right hander Adam Engel.

Dylan Cease earned the win on Friday night, moving to a 2-1 record. Alex Colome shut down the Indians in the 9th inning to secure his fourth save. Aaron Civale takes the loss and drops to a 1-2 record on the season. Cleveland and Chicago will square off in game two of the weekend series on Saturday afternoon. First pitch on Saturday is set for 2:10 pm ET at Guaranteed Rate Field on the Southside of Chicago.
