Rocky River Police Blotter: Multiple Cars Stolen

7/20/2020 Grand Theft Motor Vehicle (GTMV)

On 7/20 at approximately 8:45 AM, a Chippenham Court resident reported that sometime overnight his 2010 Audi Q5 was stolen from the driveway. The victim reported that the vehicle had been unlocked and the keys left within. On 7/24/2020 Warrensville Heights PD recovered the vehicle abandoned in their city. The Detective Bureau is currently investigating. 

7/25/2020 GTMV

On 7/25 at approximately 3:00 AM, RRPD dispatch received a call from a resident on Southbend reporting that her vehicle had just been stolen. Officers responded and learned that the victims had left a 2020 Nissan Rogue unlocked with the keys inside parked in their driveway. When they looked out their window they noticed the vehicle was no longer parked in the driveway. When they went out to investigate they saw someone driving away in their car. The vehicle has not been recovered and there are no suspects. Detectives are investigating. 

7/26/2020 OVI

On 7/26 at approximately 3:35 AM, Rocky River Police received several calls about a vehicle travelling the wrong way on I-90. Callers reported that the vehicle was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes. Another caller reported that the vehicle had crashed on the westbound off ramp at Hilliard Blvd. When Officers arrived they found that the vehicle was facing west against the eastern walls of the off ramp and had sustained disabling damage. Speaking with the driver, later identified as Sarah Stevens, 32-years-old from Rocky River, officers detected several signs of impairment. Ms. Stevens was arrested for OVI and transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. She has been charged with OVI and failure to control and has pending charges with the RRMC.
