Major League Baseball is officially going to return to the field and play ball in 2020. On Tuesday, the MLB Players Union agreed to finish Spring Training beginning July 1st and signed off on a set of COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Teams will play a shortened 60-game season with opening day set for either July 23rd or 24th. Still left to be finalized is where teams will play and if fans will be allowed to attend games. Previous plans of having games only in Florida and Arizona are most likely no longer an option as both states are seeing surges in new coronavirus cases.
