(Cleveland) - A Cleveland man is in jail after FBI agents say he wanted to stage an uprising, using the weapons of National Park rangers whom he wanted to kidnap.
Christian Ferguson, 20, caught the attention of FBI agents, when agents say Ferguson got into several "violent and extremist postings" on the communication app Discord.
The FBI says Ferguson planned to make a fake 911 call from the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Then, when park rangers arrived, he'd ambush them, steal their weapons and body armor, and kill them. Ferguson is accused of saying he chose federal law enforcement because "they had better quality firearms and body armor to steal"
Ferguson was arrested on May 8, and was charged with attempted kidnapping.
