Woman Says She Shoplifted To Help Her Kids, But Her Record Says Otherwise

(North Olmsted) - A woman's been arrested by North Olmsted Police, saying she was shoplifting to help out her children. However, her criminal record implies she's not so innocent.

Police say they arrested the woman last Friday, after she was accused of leaving the North Olmsted Walmart without paying for several children's clothing items; 21 items in all.

The woman told North Olmsted police she lost her job due to COVID-19. She says that she had overheard her children talking about having ill-fitting clothing, and she felt bad for them. She went to the North Olmsted Walmart and grabbed the clothing.

North Olmsted police found out the woman isn't so innocent, as she has a long criminal hostory, and warrants out for her arrest in Parma and Beachwood. She has been charged in the past with possession of drugs, misdemeanor theft, receiving stolen property, criminal damagint, felony theft, and shoplifting.

The woman has not yet been charged in North Olmsted. She has been told to stay out of all Walmart stores.
