Rocky River Police Blotter: I Swear I live Here

Rocky River -

On 05/05/2020 at about 1:00 PM an Erie Rd. resident reported that he had been the victim of computer fraud. The man said that he had a pop-up on his computer that indicated he needed to pay for repairs to the computer. After paying $759.99, the complainant became suspicious, stopped payment, and contacted police. Detectives are investigating.

On 05/09/2020 thefts from unlocked cars were reported to have occurred overnight on Carmen Dr., Westmoor Rd., Lakeview Rd. and Westway (one car on each street was reportedly entered). Items missing include credit cards that have since been used at several locations in the region before being canceled. Detectives are investigating.

On 05/10/2020 at about 8:50 AM an Arundel Dr. resident reported that a man came to his house and said he was a former resident there. The caller recognized the man as a former resident and initially let him in, but soon asked him to leave. The former resident left as asked, but later returned and tried to open locked doors. Police responded and made contact with Elliott Moreau, a 21-year-old from Cleveland, who insisted to police that he lived at the Arundel Dr. house. Police determined Mr. Moreau was under the influence of alcohol and cited him for Disorderly Conduct While Intoxicated. He was released at the scene to a sober adult.

On 05/11/2020 a Westmoor Rd. resident reported that he unlocked truck was gone through over night and a GPS device was taken. There are no suspects and it's unknown if the theft is related to the thefts discovered on 05/09/2020.

Story Rd. remains closed to west bound traffic at the Rocky River City limit (near Carol Blvd.).

Wagar Rd. remains closed in both directions at the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks (Wagar Rd. at Beachwood Dr. headed north and Wagar Rd. at Stratford headed south).
