The Police Department has received at least two calls from residents about scams with a caller reporting to the would-be victim that they represented a utility company and the power would be disconnected if late payments were not caught up. The caller instructed the victim to buy gift cards and call back with card numbers. None of the people that reported the attempted fraud followed through with the request and no money was lost.
