Rocky River Police Blotter: Car Break-in Bandit at Large

Rocky River -

On 04/06/2020 at about 8:00 AM, three people were fishing on the Bradstreet Landing Fishing Pier (22464 Lake Rd.), which is closed for repairs. They were advised to leave. There were no health code violations observed. 

On 04/07/2020 at about 11:00 PM police responded to a single car motor vehicle accident on Interstate-90 e/b near Detroit Rd. Callers reported the car struck the median wall and the driver fled on foot up the Detroit Rd. ramp. The man, 26-year-old Nathaniel David Howard of Avon Lake, was quickly caught by police and reported that he fled the scene because he didn't have a driver's license. While talking with him, police observed indications of alcohol intoxication and, after field sobriety testing, arrested Mr. Howard for drunk driving. He was also charged with driving under suspension and leaving the scene of an accident. Mr. Howard was released to a sober adult. 

On 04/09/2020 at about 8:20 AM and 10:30 PM, two residents on Kramer Dr. and two on Laurel Ave. reported unlocked car had been gone through the night before. None of the callers wanted a a police report.  

On 04/10/2020 between about 9:20 AM and 2:15 PM residents on Westmoor Rd., Marian Lane, and Northview Rd. reported their unlocked cars had been gone through but nothing was missing. Both callers declined to make a police report. 

On 04/10/2020 at about 2:35 PM a Colahan Dr. resident reported an unlocked vehicle had been gone through and a wallet including cash, a driver's license, and credit cards and a pair of sunglasses were missing. The caller provided a statement and a report was filed. 

On 04/11/2020 at about 2:30 PM a Wooster Rd. resident reported someone went through her Honda van overnight. Nothing was missing and no report was filed.
