Indians Spring Training Notes 3-3-2020

With 23 days left until Opening Day here are a few notes from Arizona.

- Carlos Carrasco made his first start of the spring on Tuesday against the Angels. Carrasco pitched 2 innings and allowed 3 hits and 2 earned runs. Afterwards Carrasco was excited to finally be back starting a game, since last May after being diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia in early June.

- The team fell to the Angels 11-7. LF FRANMIL REYES (2-for-3, HR, 2RBI, R) tied the game at 2 runs apiece in the bottom of the 2nd with an opposite field 2-run homer. Reyes has now recorded a hit in all 6 Cactus League games he has appeared in this spring, batting .500 (8-for-16) with 3 home runs, 7 extra-base hits and 7 RBI.

- 1B CARLOS SANTANA turned in his best game of the spring slate up to this juncture, going 3-for-3 with a solo home run in the bottom of the 4th, a double and 2 runs scored.

- 2B CESAR HERNANDEZ (2-for-3, HR, 2RBI, R) capped off the long ball barrage with a 2-run homer in the 5th - his first home run in a Tribe uniform.

- Cleveland will hit the road on Wednesday, traveling to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick to face the Arizona Diamondbacks.

- RHP AARON CIVALE (0-0, --) is scheduled to make his 2020 debu
