Cleveland Rape Suspect Arrested in West Virginia

(Cleveland) - Late Tuesday afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals Service task force in southern West Virginia arrested John Hauserman, 22, for rape.

Hauserman was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for sexual assaults that occurred over a multiple month period this year.The victim is a child under the age of 13.Sex crimes detectives worked closely with the fugitive task force regarding Hauserman’s possible whereabouts.

Law enforcement officers developed information that Houserman fled the Cleveland area and was living near southern Ohio and possibly into West Virginia. This afternoon, investigators were able to track him down and arrested him in a shopping center parking lot in the 3300 block of US 6 Huntington, West Virginia.Hauserman will remain in the Cabell County jail until he can be extradited back to Cleveland.

U.S. Marshal Peter Elliott stated, “Cleveland Police worked hard to identify this suspect and remained vigilant in assisting the task force with possible locations for the suspect.The task force in southern West Virginia immediately responded to assist with the arrest and now a dangerous predator is off the streets.”
