Rocky River Police Blotter: Trees Fall, Knock Power out for Apartments

Rocky River -

  • On 10/15/2019 at about 12:55 PM two tree limbs fell on the garages of a Hilliard Blvd. apartment complex, damaging the garage, disconnecting power to the apartment building, and trapping two cars that were parked, unoccupied, in the garage. No one was injured.

  • On 10/16/2019 at about 7:40 PM a Wooster Rd. resident called police to report a man she did not know was banging on her door and looking through her windows. Police arrived and discovered her neighbor knocking on the door looking for a package that was mistakenly delivered to the caller's home. The caller had the package and it was turned over to the neighbor. 

  • On 10/19/2019 at about 2:10 AM police went to the City Hall lot after an Uber driver dialed 911 to report intoxicated passengers. A 31-year-old Rocky River woman was intoxicated and unable to care for herself and was arrested for Disorderly Conduct While Intoxicated. The other passenger, a 32-year-old Canton man, was able to safely care for himself and was released at the scene and called for another ride home.

 

  • On 10/21/2019 at about 7:55 AM police went to Orange Theory Fitness after two people exercising there reported that their cars were broken into between 6:45 and 7:45 AM. One had a shattered window; nothing was missing from within the vehicle. The second had cracked windows on both the driver and passenger sides; entry was not gained to this car. Similar crimes were reported at the Orange Theory Fitness center in Westlake. Police from both cities are investigating.

  • On 10/21/2019 at about 10:35 AM a customer at Home Depot reported he witnessed a person leave the store without paying for a Ryobi tool kit. The man walked towards the apartments next to Westwood Town Center; responding police were unable to locate the subject. Home Depot personnel were unaware of the theft and declined to make a report. 

  • On 10/21/2019 at about 11:45 AM a Wooster Rd. resident reported that a men's Trek mountain bike was stolen from her backyard overnight and a boy's BMX style bike was left in its place.

  • On 10/21/2019 at about 5:50 PM police responded to a Pease Dr. condominium after a caller reported seeing a person running from a neighbor's garage and hiding in a field next to the condo complex. Police were able to locate the suspect in a grassy area west of the Force Fitness Center. 24-year-old Quentin Johnson from Richmond Hts. was arrested for Burglary and Resisting arrest. While en route to jail, Mr. Johnson kicked the patrol car causing damage and was charged with Vandalism.
