Phillies Bats Go Deep, To Much For Indians

For the Indians this game started off as well as you could have hoped. The Indians scored 2 run in the bottom of the first, Carlos Santana had a single to left field that scored Lindor.

Starting Pitcher Zach Plesac would keep the Phillies scoreless in the first inning. But in the second inning the Phillies would have there turn when Adam Haseley would hit and RBI double that would put the Phillies on the board making the score 2-1 in favor of the tribe going into the bottom of the second inning. In the bottom of the second the Indians would get a two run home run from the rookie center fielder Oscar Mercado making the score 4-1 in favor of the Indians heading into the third inning.

Unfortunately for the Indians that was the last time the tribe would score in the game. Even more unfortunate The Phillies would score 8 unscored runs including a 3 run home run by Bryce Harper that put the game out of reach.

Former Indians Jay Bruce and Brad Miller hit a combined 3 home runs to increase the lead as the Phillies keep the Indians scoreless making the score 9-4.

Something interesting and worth noting is Bryce Harper giving the crowd an O-H after a homerun. Harper whos wife, Kayla Varner was a soccer player at The Ohio State University.

That would be the final of this game 9-4. The Indians look to get back on the right track tomorrow in Primetime. The game can be watched on ESPN at 6:30 and of course on your Official home of Cleveland Indians Baseball WTAM 1100 and 106.9 FM
