NEW YORK--After Carlos Santana's go-ahead homer in the top of the 10th, Brad Hand committed one of the most notorious meltdowns you will see in all of baseball in 2019. The defining play is here below:

This tied the game at 3-3. The next batter was J.D. Davis and he connected with his first ever career walk-off hit.

Hand (6-4) who takes the loss gave up an opening double to Amed Rosario in the 10th inning. Joe Panik had a sacrifice bunt to advance Rosario to third. Then in the play that will be discussed for days, Michael Conforto grounded sharply to Santana at first. Santana had time to go for the double play to end the game as he threw to Lindor at second. However, Hand did not rotate back to first, instead deciding at the last moment to go to home plate where it was too late (Rosario scored to tie).

Below is Terry Francona's thoughts on the game:

Luis Avilan (4-1) who gave up the Santana homer in the top of the 10th gets credit for the win (similar to how Hand won two decisions last week despite having blown saves due to Santana Grand Slam and Santana Walk-Off respectively).

Indians look to avoid the sweep Thursday night with RHP Aaron Civale (1-2, 1.50) on the mound against RHP Noah Syndergaard (8-6, 3.86).

Below is my postgame thoughts of this game.
