Tribe Score 19 in Win Against the Yankees, as The Fight for First Continues

The Indians bats were hitting early and often as the Indians first 3 batters were able to get on base. Then in the top of the first Jose Ramirez would have his first career Grand Slam Home run and help the Indians gain a lead of 4-0.

Up to bat next for the Indians was veteran Jason Kipnis. Jason Kipnis who as of late has played very well continued to play well. Jason Kipnis hit a home run. Giving the Tribe back to back Home runs, giving the Indians the lead of 5-0 in the top of the 1st inning.

Continuing to momentum Tyler Naquin had a base hit. Catcher Roberto Perez brought Naquin home with his 20th home run of the season increasing the score to 7-0 in the top of the 1st inning.

In the bottom of the first the Yankees and former Indian Gio Urshela would continue his career season as he got an RBI single that scored LeMahieu making the score 7-1.

In the top of the second Puig would get on base. Jose Ramirez would homer for the second time in as many at bats making the score 7-0. This would give Jose 6 RBI in his first two at bats of the night.

The Indians would continue to score. With a two run Homer by Carlos Santana in the 4th would make the score 11-1, going into the 5th inning.

In the 5th inning the Tribe would continue to roll after a hits that put Naquin on third and Perez on second. Greg Allen was able to hit a single that would score Tyler Naquin increasing the lead to 12-1 going into the the bottom of the 5th.

In the bottom of the first the Yankees would score a run due to a solo home run by Didi Gregorius making the score 12-2.

The Indians were quit in the 6th inning. The Yankees were not as Gary Sanchez would hit a solo home run making the score 12-3 in the bottom of the 6th.

In the top of 7th inning the Indians would continue to score to secure the lead when Yasiel Puig would hit a base clearing double that score Greg Allen and Carlos Santana making the score 14-3.

In the Bottom of the 7th, Gio Urshela continued to build upon the great month he has put together (Gio Urshela was just named the player of the month) as he helped score Lemahieu and that made the score 14-4 in favor of the Indians going into the 8th.

In the 8th inning the Indians bats were on fire as the Tribe scored five time off of a Lindor RBI single, a Greg Allen Home run and a Carlos Santana home run, making the score 19-4.

In the bottom of the 8th, the Yankees would score a run making the score 19-5.

In the 9th the Indians would three up and three down.

In the bottom of the 9th the Indians would put this game away.

With the win was Adam Plutko who through 6 innings allowed 3 earned runs had one walk and struck out 3.

That will improve Plutko to 5-3 this year.
