Cited: Robert Harger 58 years old from Solon Cited : Assault

Solon Police officers were dispatched to 27995 Cannon Rd. on a complaint of two males involved in an assault. Arriving officers discovered a male on the floor of the home covered in blood. A second male exited the house and was handcuffed and interviewed. Investigation revealed that the victim, who rents a room from the suspect, came home and was confronted by the suspect who was intoxicated. The argument continued until the suspect struck the victim in the chest. The suspect continued to challenge the victim to a fight and the victim attempted to retreat. The suspect continued the assault until the victim struck the suspect with one punch causing the aggressor to fall to the floor ending the assault.

Arrested: Michellein Chavis-Arvie 55 years old from Solon Charged: OVI/Open Container

Solon Police officers were dispatched to the area of Solon Rd. and Pepper Dr. on a complaint of a loud noise sounding like a plow truck. The complainant stated that he looked out and saw a vehicle almost strike a stop sign and then come to a stop. Arriving officers located a vehicle on Pepper Dr. with damage to the right front along with a missing right front tire. Seated at the wheel was the registered owner of the vehicle. The driver stated that she struck the curb and then got turned around. Officers noted a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle and/or driver. A series of field tests were performed which indicated impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to the Solon Correction Center. When offered a breath test the driver failed to submit a valid sample. Inside her vehicle were located two open containers of an alcoholic beverage.

Location: SOM Ctr. Rd @ Solon Rd.

Arrested: Anthony Parrish 20 years old from Cleveland Charged: Fleeing and Eluding

Solon Police were notified via radio that Bainbridge Police and Aurora Police were in pursuit of a vehicle west bound on Aurora Rd. entering the City of Solon. It was reported that the occupants were observed with gloves and masks outside a business in Bainbridge. The vehicle was spotted by a Solon officer as it entered the business district. The vehicle was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. When the Solon officer attempted to stop the vehicle it failed to comply with the order and fled north on SOM Ctr. Rd. The vehicle continued to weave in and out of traffic and also failed to obey traffic signals. At the intersection of SOM Ctr. and Solon Rd. the operator of the vehicle attempted a right turn onto Solon Rd. losing control and striking a tree. The driver of the vehicle exited and ran to the passenger side of the vehicle where he surrendered. Inside the vehicle were three other males, one of which was a 16 year old from Cleveland. A search of the interior of the vehicle discovered, (1) bullet, (1) BB, latex gloves and cell phones.

Arrested: Laura Anderson, 56 years old from Willoughby Charged: OVI/Open Container

A Solon police officer on patrol witnessed a vehicle on Cannon Rd. going westbound weaving in and out of their traffic lane. The vehicle pulled onto Pine Ln. and into a driveway. The officer having ran the registration learned that the owner lived in Willoughby Hills and not on Pine Ln. The officer continued to watch for a period of time and noted that the driver did not exit the vehicle. The officer approached the vehicle and the driver lowered the driver’s side rear window. While speaking with the driver an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from the vehicle. The driver indicated that she was lost and had been at a party in “Shaker”. The driver could not identify what street she was on and her responses were confused. Filed tests indicated impairment and she was arrested and transported to the Solon Correction Center where she refused to submit to a breath test.

Offense: OVI/Drug Abuse

Date: July 28, 2019

Time: 2:49 AM

Location: SOM Ctr. Rd. @ Arthur Rd.

Arrested: Douglas Edwards 67 years old from Canton.

A Solon police officer on patrol stopped a vehicle on Arthur Rd. which had been observed operating outside of it lane of travel on SOM Ctr. Rd. Upon speaking with the driver the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and/or driver. The driver denied smoking any marijuana. A consent search was conducted of the interior of the vehicle. A small amount of marijuana was located. The driver was arrested and transported to the Solon Correction Center where a breath test indicated no alcohol. A urine sample was collected and sent to the OSP laboratory for anlyasis.

Date: July 28, 2019

Time 9:33 PM

Location: Delray Ave.

Arrested: Ernest Whitsett 38 years old from Cleveland.

A Solon police Officer on patrol observed a vehicle on Miles Rd. in the area of Harper Rd. The officer noted that the vehicle was being driven at a slow speed and had turned around and proceeded in the opposite direction before coming to a stop in the roadway. The vehicle then turned right on Delray Ave. where it was stopped. Upon speaking with the driver an odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle and/or the driver. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana about an hour earlier. Also inside the vehicle were “roaches” located in the ashtray. Strewn about the interior were numerous pill bottles. The driver indicated that he was going to “the store” but could not provide a specific address or location. He indicated that he was trying to get to Central Ave. in Cleveland. The driver was arrested and taken to the Solon Correction Center where a urine sample was collected and sent to the OSP laboratory.
