Beachwood Police Search For Suspect After Mall Shooting

Beachwood - Beachwood Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly tried to run a Beachwood officer over.

Officers say they tried to stop a man who was reportedly shoplifting, when things took a turn for the worst.

That's when the man fired shots at an officer, then led police on a pursuit into Richmond Heights. He then took off on foot and has alluded officers since.

Beachwood Police released a photo of the suspect Thursday night.

Beachwood Place released a statement Thursday reading,

“We are grateful that our guests and tenants were not impacted by today’s incident, and that there was no threat to our shopping center community.”

If you know anything about the whereabouts or identity of the suspect, you're asked to contact Beachwood Police at (216) 464-2343.
