Search To Continue Tuesday For Man Who Jumped Into Lake Erie

Cleveland - After hours in the water, the search for the man who jumped into Lake Erie Monday evening will resume Tuesday at 9am.

Cleveland Fire Lieutenant Mike Norman though says the results may not be to promising.

"The water temperature in the lake right now is about 53 degrees, so it's not to clear if the man could have survived after he disappeared unless he hit shore somewhere."

Witnesses at the scene near Voinovich Park and the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame say they saw the man, fully clothed, jump into the lake. He then reportedly began to swim back, but dissapeared after getting about half way to shore.

The U.S. Coast Guard, Ohio Department Of Natural Resources and Cleveland Police Department are all expected to help with the search as it continues at 9am Tuesday morning.

Only a wallet and phone were found, suspected to belong to the man who jumped. His identity is not yet known.
