Solon, OH - Theft/Drug possession: (34310 Aurora Rd. Market District) May 3rd, 2019 at 8:57 PM. A Solon Police working off duty security at Solon Market District was informed of a possible theft in progress. An employee of the store notified the officer that they had captured a theft from the store on video the prior day and they believed that the same suspect was in the store again. The officer began surveillance of the individual. The officer witnessedas this male proceeded to the meat section and removed a package and began walking throughout the store. The officer continued to watch as the male was seen placing the package of meat down his pants. The male then removed another package from a shelf and also placed this item in his pants. The male was seen walking to a side exit of the building and the officer confronted him in the parking lot. The male refused to stop for the officer. Responding units confronted the male in the Park East Apartments parking lot. The male had an open package of Beef Jerky in his hands which had not been paid for. As the male was being handcuffed, a package of steak fell from his pants. Teyvaun Nelson-Allen, 23from Solon was arrested and charged with theft. During a search of his belongings a bag of marijuana was also discovered.

OVI/Display of lighted lights: (SOM Ctr. Rd. @ Inwood.) May 5th, 2019 at 2:50 AM. A Solon Police Officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to have the required lighted lights illuminated. While speaking with the driver, the officer could detect the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle and/or driver. The driver admitted to consuming “Two drinks” which consisted of a shot and wine while in South Euclid. The driver performed a series of field sobriety tests which indicated impairment. Lotasha Cunningham, 33 from Twinsburg was arrested and transported to the Solon Correction Center. A breath test was administered with a reading of .076.

Fleeing & Eluding/Speed/Driving Under Suspension/Expired Plates/Drug Possession: (Cochran Rd.) May 7th, 2019 at 1:38 PM.A Solon Police officer on routine patrol ran a registration check on a vehicle on Cochran Rd. The plate was expired and the registered owner had a suspended driver’s license. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle but the operator took off at a high rate of speed. The vehicle proceeded south on Cochran Rd. driving left of center passing other vehicle and running a red light at Carter St. The on-duty supervisor terminated the pursuit due to safety considerations. The vehicle was last seen entering Glenwillow Village. A Glenwillow officer located the vehicle parked at a business in the village and took the operator into custody. Arrested was Ray Baker, 21 from Warrensville Hts. During an inventory of his vehicle a small amount of marijuana was located.
