Elryia High Student Assaults Police Officer, Gets Arrested

(Cleveland) - A student at Elyria High School has been placed under arrest, after she allegedly assaulted a public resource police officer at the school.

Jazmin Davis is 18-years-old. She's charged with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.

The Lorain County Sheriff's office says say that the officer asked Davis repeatedly to leave the school's cafeteria at the end of the school day Monday, and she repeatedly refused. This led to Davis screaming obscenities at the officer, and kicking the officer in the groin when he tried to place her in handcuffs. This led to a group of other students surrounding the officer, recording video with their cellphones for what they claimed was 'police brutality.'

Davis was taken to the Lorain County Sheriff's Office. She now faces possible expulsion.
