Cleveland - The City of Cleveland Division of Animal Care & Control today announced the hiring of Colleen Siedlecki as the new manager of Animal Control Services.

In her role, Siedlecki will plan, evaluate, and direct the day-to-day operations of the Division, including overseeing the city kennel and the enforcement of ordinances concerning animals under the popular CITY DOGS Cleveland program.

The kennel is a high volume animal control facility serving the entire city. It receives more than 75 dogs per week which include strays, court cases, and others- all in a large range of age, breed, and size. All dogs are held the mandatory hold time, then are either adopted or transferred to other rescue facilities or areas, if the temperament and health are acceptable.

The city currently has a new multi-million kennel, scheduled to open in early 2019. The kennel will be open 24 hours per day for staff and accommodate more than 40 employees and hundreds of dedicated volunteers.

“We welcome Colleen Siedlecki as the new animal care and control manager,” said Safety Director Michael McGrath. “She possesses the right experience and skills needed for this position.”

Siedlecki began her career with the City as a volunteer dog walker at the City Dogs kennel. Prior to that position, Siedlecki served as a volunteer and board member at Parma Animal Shelter. She has also served as a Project Manager for Cleveland Clinic.

Siedlecki holds a bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University and a master’s degree in business administration from Baldwin-Wallace University. She currently serves as a member of the board of directors for Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary.
