Stan Lee Laid To Rest in Small Private Funeral

Stan Lee laid to rest on Friday in small, private funeral

The late, great, Stan Lee was laid to rest in a small, private funeral on Friday, in accordance with the prolific comic book creator's final wishes.

According to a statement from Lee's company, POW! Entertainment, the comic book legend did not want a large, public funeral. However, the company went on to say that they were working on a larger presentation that would help memorialize the man responsible for so many iconic characters.

"As we all continue to process our feelings of loss at the passing of a true legend, many are asking if there will be a memorial in Stan's honor," POW!'s statement read. "Stan was always adamant that he did not want a large public funeral, and as such his family has conducted a private closed ceremony in accordance with his final wishes."

"Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with them."

Those people who wish to pay their tribute to Lee can post a message to a "memory wall" set up on the late writer's website

Stan Lee's passing last Monday (Nov. 29) had people from all corners of the entertainment industry offering their tribute to a man they saw as having an influence on their careers.

Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, wrote on Twitter that he credits Lee with having the biggest impact on his career than anyone else.

"No one has had more of an impact on my career and everything we do at Marvel Studios than Stan Lee," Feige said. "Stan leaves an extraordinary legacy that will outlive us all. Our thoughts are with his daughter, his family, and his millions of fans."

Lee passed away last Monday at the age of 95. He is survived by his daughter, Joan Celia "J.C." Lee.
