Josh Gordon Won't Be At The Start Of Browns Camp

(Berea) - Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon, who has dealt with substance abuse issues, will miss the start of training camp, saying it's part of his "overall health and treatment plan."

In a Tweet on Monday morning, Gordon said, "I am reaching out to you all personally and letting you know that I am not only doing great physically but mentally as well.  You will notice that I will not be in Cleveland for the start of training camp.  Rest assured this too is a part of my overall health and treatment plan.  I appreciate the awesome support I have received from teammates, friends, fans, and the Browns organization."

Gordon has been suspended numerous times in his NFL career for violating the league's substance abuse policy, and was indefinitely suspended in the 2014 season for his fourth violation.  After rehab, he was reinstated midway through the 2017 season.
