Rocky River Police: She Was DUI, His License Was Suspended

Below are items of interest from the Rocky River Police Department from Tuesday, 03/27/2018 through Monday, 04/02/2018.

  • On 03/27/2018 at about 12:05 AM, a car was stopped on Interstate-90 for an equipment violation. The officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Suspected marijuana and a grinder were located in the car. An eighteen year old Lakewood woman was cited.
  • On 03/29/2018 at about 10:20 PM a car collided with a police vehicle that was on a traffic stop on Center Ridge Rd. The driver of the car then fled the scene, with police following. The suspect vehicle was eventually stopped on Clague Rd. north of Center Ridge Rd. The driver, fifty-two year old Kathleen Stringer from Cleveland, was arrested for drunk driving, failure to comply, and failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. 
  • On 03/30/2018 at about 4:35 PM police were called the Hilliard Blvd. BP station after a report that a couple were fighting in the parking lot. A forty-one year old man and twenty-seven year old woman, both from Rocky River, were arrested for Disorderly Conduct Persisting. 
  • On 03/31/2018 at just before 2:00 AM a twenty-nine year old Cleveland man was stopped and cited for driving under suspension. At the time of the stop, he told officers he was following a friend to ensure she made it home safely because she had been drinking. At about 2:40 AM, the Cleveland man was picked up at the Police Department by the woman he said he was following home because she had too much to drink. The woman, twenty-five year old Melissa Knight from Cleveland, was arrested for drunk driving. 
  • On 04/01/2018 at about 6:00 PM officers responded to a motor vehicle accident at Wagar and Center Ridge Rds. A sixty-two year old Rocky River man was arrested for drunk driving. The driver of the other vehicle was treated for unknown injuries.
