The Trump administration will no longer issue temporary work visas to Haitians. The Department of Homeland Security will announce Thursday it will remove Haiti from the list of countries eligible for the temporary work permits. The move follows the administration's decision to end Temporary Protected Status for nearly 60,000 Haitians. The Haitians in question came here and are working legally following the devastating 2010 earthquake in the island nation.
It also comes less than a week after President Trump reportedly used disparaging language in questioning why the U.S. accepts immigrants from certain countries, including Haiti.
