Willoughby-Eastlake Board Of Ed Building May Be Torn Down

(WILLOUGHBY) - The Willougby-Eastlake schools reopened today after a fire destroyed the board of education office on Tuesday.  Crews began staging demolition equipment Thursday morning.

Superintendent Steven Thompson said the building is being evaluated to determine if it can be rebuilt.  As of Thursday afternoon, no date had been set to start demolition.

The Ridge Road building was donated to the school district in 1936, but first served as a home for the Chandler Printing Press family.  The cause of the fire overnight Tuesday is still under investigation.
