Indians Promote Barren To President, Business Ops

(Cleveland) — The Cleveland Indians have promoted Brian Barren to the position of President, Business Operations.

Barren joined the Indians in January 2014 as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Prior to his time with the Indians, Barren spent 24 years at Procter & Gamble. During his tenure at P&G, he had the opportunity to lead multi-functional business teams across over a dozen of P&G’s billion-dollar brands as well as lead Customer Business Development Teams (Wal-Mart and Kroger).

“I have worked closely with Brian during his time with us and am confident his leadership will guide our business operation in a very positive direction,” said Cleveland Indians owner Paul Dolan. “Under his leadership to date we have experienced strong growth and capability building to ensure our success is as sustainable as possible.”

In his new role as President, Barren will oversee the entire business operation while Chris Antonetti will continue to lead the club’s baseball operations.
