Cleveland Flock Camera Contract Could Return

Cleveland's Flock license plate reader cameras remain scheduled to go offline on June 29, though the contract may return for a future City Council vote.

The public safety committee recently voted 3-to-1 against renewing the $250,000 agreement.

While police emphasize the cameras' value in solving violent crimes and locating missing persons, some council members and critics are demanding additional data on the program's effectiveness and more robust privacy protections.
